หลักการใช้
1. แสดงความเป็นจริงตามธรรมชาติ/ สิ่งที่เป็นจริง
Ex. The sun sets in the west.
Honesty is a human virtue.
Cows give milk and sheep give wool.
2. แสดงการกระทำที่เป็นนิสัย/ ทำซ้ำบ่อย ๆ
I go to church every Sunday.
Jack often comes to work late.
Ruth gets on well with her parents.
Her father often gets unnecessarily worried about her.
3. แสดงถึงเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในปัจจุบัน
I see a bunch of bananas.
4. แสดงการกระทำที่จะเกิดในอนาคต (เกี่ยวกับการเดินทาง)
He leaves for Australia next week.
5. ประโยคอุทาน Ex. Here comes Jack!
ประโยคตัวอย่าง
บอกเล่า He walks to school.
คำถาม Does he walk to school?
ปฏิเสธ He doesn’t walk to school.
บอกเล่าHis is sick.
He can swim.
คำถามIs he sick?

Adverb of Frequency ที่มักใช้ใน Tense นี้
Adverb of Frequency คือ คำที่บอกความถี่บ่อย ความถี่บ่อยของการกระทำนั้น ๆ มีคำว่า
Usually ตามปกติ frequently บ่อย ๆ
Always เสมอ ๆ often บ่อย ๆ
Sometimes บางครั้ง generally โดยทั่วไป
Rarely แทบจะไม่ seldom นาน ๆ ครั้ง
ตำแหน่งของ Adverb of Frequency
1.วางไว้หลัง Verb to be
He is always late.
2. วางไว้หน้า verb แท้
He always comes late.
3. วางไว้ระหว่าง V. ช่วยกับ Verb แท้
He will never come late.
